En Latinoamérica un notario es un abogado. En Estados Unidos, un notary public solo certifica firmas y no puede darte asesoría de inmigración. Hay quien aprovecha esa confusión para cobrar por formularios que son gratis.
Cuatro señales para parar:- Te cobran por los formularios (los de USCIS son gratis).
- Te prometen resultados o rapidez a cambio de dinero.
- No te enseñan licencia, ni contrato, ni recibos.
- Te piden firmar en blanco o se quedan con tus documentos originales.

In Latin America a notario is a lawyer. In the U.S., a notary public only certifies signatures and cannot give you immigration advice. Some people use that confusion to charge for forms that are free.
Four signs to stop:- They charge for the forms (USCIS forms are free).
- They promise results or speed for a fee.
- No license, no written contract, no receipts.
- They ask you to sign blank forms or keep your original documents.
